LIUtilities WinTask 5 Professional (cont.)Informational Features: In addition, to all the stuff I have already mentioned, WinTask 5 has some other good informational features which can all be accessed via buttons on the View toolbar.
The Windows button brings up a list of all the Windows (if any; visible or invisible) associated with a selected process. From here, you have the option to maximize, minimize, normalize, show (make visible), or hide (make invisible) any selected windows.
Another thing you can view about a selected process is all the DLLs associated with it. This is done by selecting a process and clicking on the DLLs button. This is purely informational since there are no options in the DLL window other than print.
A very cool feature of Windows Task Manager is the Performance tab which displays the graphs and meters of the CPU and memory's respective loads. Not to be outdone, WinTask 5 also has this a feature. Clicking on the Stats button in the View toolbar brings up WinTask's equivalent to the Performance Tab. WinTask 5 takes things a step further by also displaying the amount of memory and percentage of CPU used for a selected process in addition to the total memory and CPU usage.
The final two information buttons on the View toolbar are Scripts and Logs. Scripts shows all the scripts that are running. The Logs window shows a list of all the events that have occurred since WinTask has been running. A + by the event indicates the start of an event and an X indicates the end of an event. A Filter toolbar allows the event list to be filtered down with the following topics: +, X, Processes, Windows, and Modules (DLL). Conclusion: It is natural for our computers to slow down as the years go by. Every time we install a program or surf the web, more and more background processes build up. WinTask 5 offers an easy and effective way to breathe new life back into your computer by letting you easily identify and stop unwanted processes. In addition, WinTask 5 allows you to see about everything you would ever want to know about a process, from what it does to how many resources it uses via a graph. The overall interface is concise and easy to use. For all but the most computer illiterate, there should be no problem finding and using all that WinTask has to offer. If you want to keep your computer running at its peak and feel Windows Task Manager is just not cutting it, then LIUtilities WinTask 5 is the program for you. If you are an advanced computer user, you will find that MS Config, Task Manager, Performance Monitor, Google, and the computer management console will provide most of the same features as WinTask 5.
