Flexiglow xRaider Mouse and Keyboard (cont.)Keyboard Testing: Typing on the keyboard feels very natural. Other lighted keyboards I have tested, feel like a laptop keyboard. They are small, keys are close together, and there is very little movement when you push the key down. Flexiglow's keyboard felt more like my Microsoft Natural Keyboard. The keys were stiffer than a laptop style and you can feel the "spring" when typing. They also stand tall like a normal keyboard has, unlike flat keys of a laptop.
Let's get to the main feature. Pressing the on/off button at the top right turns on the light. The blue light is very soothing, especially in the dark. It is evenly spread amongst the keys. I find keying in the dark with this lighted keyboard puts less strain on my eyes. The biggest issue that you see in the picture is the bright blue num-lock status. It is incredibly bright compared to the keys. Looking down at in the dark blinds you. Same is true with the caps lock and scroll lock. In fact, these lock keys light up the room all by themselves. One other thing, the keyboard does not turn off with the computer. If you turn off the computer the lock lights stay on as well as the keys. Good thing you can turn off the keys but too bad the lock status lights stay on. Mouse Testing: Flexiglow's mouse is about the same size as a standard Logitech mouse. Of course, it is a bit curvier and feels a lot better to the touch. It doesn't feel like hard plastic. Instead it has a very light velvety feeling touch. I imagine this is actually a soft rubber texture as stated in the features list.
Using the scroll wheel is great. It doesn't feel rock hard rubber like other mice. It is a bit wider, not as pointed like a Logitech mouse. My finger gets sore after a long days use with a hard rubber wheel, not with this mouse though.
The mouse flew across the mouse pad. For an 800DPI mouse, it was incredibly quick. Better yet, Teflon tape is great. The mouse feels like its floating on a cushion of air. Gaming is perfect, you can instantly track and click objects. Working with PhotoShop and other computer applications is just as easy.
The lighting certainly catches your attention. Flexiglow's xRaider mouse rotates through the 4 colors. Unfortunately, you cannot make the mouse stay on one color. The light is not too bright, in fact the sides of the mouse present only a little bit of light. The most intense light is the scroll wheel, but even that is not too over powering. Personally, I feel this is a great lighting effect. Conclusion: Flexiglow has produced a solid combination. The keyboard is the best lighted keyboard I have tried. Overall it is a solid keyboard for everyday use. I wish the lock status lights where less intense. xRaider mouse is a great gaming mouse. Movements are very quick and precise with this mouse, even though it's only 800 DPI. Changing colors is a great added bonus. I actually want to buy another one for my office computer, just cause it looks so cool and is very inexpensive. Keyboard Pros:
